Sammy grew up on and around yachts, turning a lifelong connection with sailing into a career as a professional rigger. He trained and developed his trade across New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji, building the practical knowledge needed to work on everything from local cruising yachts to offshore race boats and superyachts.

His experience on the water is just as extensive. Sammy has competed in 15 Sydney Hobart Yacht Races, one of the world's most demanding offshore events. That background has shaped a deep respect for sound preparation, dependable equipment, and rigging that can be trusted when conditions become challenging.

As Chief Rigger and hands-on lead at Pacific Yacht Rigging Services, Sammy handles the practical work that keeps yachts safe and moving: complete re-rigs, detailed rig inspections, furler servicing, repairs, and specialist ropework.

Based at Vuda Point Marina, Sammy works with yacht owners at Vuda, Denarau, Nawi, and other locations across Fiji and neighbouring Pacific islands. The service is mobile and practical, with inspections and repairs carried out at the vessel whenever the job allows.

His approach is straightforward: inspect the complete system, pay close attention to the small components that can conceal serious wear, clearly explain what has been found, and carry out the work with the vessel's safety and future sailing plans in mind.

Recent work shared by the business includes a complete re-rig of a Privilege 454 at Vuda Marina, specialist tow-line splicing for a superyacht with Yacht Help Fiji, and furler strip-downs that identified failing internal terminal components before they became a larger problem.
